Laptop requirements

Given the amount of expected practical training during the Workshops, each participant is required to bring a laptop.

In order to accurately run the ITU Software Tools to be used during the Workshops, laptops should have the following set of minimal specifications:

Windows 10:
32-bit or 64-bit OS

Processor (CPU):
Core i3, i5, i7
(3rd generation)

Memory (RAM):
8 GB

Graphics:
256 MB

Free disk space:
at least 10 GB (recommanded 20 GB)

USB Port
or DVD Reader

Wireless or
(Wi-Fi) adapter

  • Software environment:
    • Microsoft Office 2010 (or higher) or any other compatible suite (as e.g. OpenOffice)
    • Any internet browser (MS Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, …)
    • Adobe Reader or any other PDF reader

Users should have the necessary permissions on their laptops for installing new software (i.e. local administrator rights).

Please note that some ITU Software Tools to be used:

  • Might experience unexpected difficulties when running on Windows 8
  • Could require configuring regional settings in English
